The elevator pitch for the screenplay was 'Relegated from the English football league and mired in debt, the once-great Albion United are just 10 days from going bust. Their PR Manager (English), Star Striker (Irish) and Accountant (Scottish) jet out to the World Cup on a kamikaze mission to find a billionaire sugar-daddy who will take a punt and invest in their ailing club. They battle the clock, personality clashes, national rivalries and even the mafia to rescue the club at the eleventh hour and return it to former glories.'
